MEXICO
The
Basics
Mexico is a country in the southern portion of North America and is the third largest country in Latin America.

What
Drew Me
Mexico tends to get a bad rap, so I wanted to see it for myself to form my own opinion. I was also intrigued by Chichen Itza, and of course, this temple can only be found in Mexico. It's also a place everyone seems to run away to for vacation, so I figured, why not?
Do I Recommend Visiting?
Yes, yes, yes. Don't listen to all the noise about Mexico being unsafe for tourists. If you stay in within tourist-frequented areas, you'll more likely than not be entirely safe. As always, heed the warnings of your embassy and do lots of research before stepping out, but all in all, you should be fine when taking regular precautions.

Mexico is a beautiful country, with some of the kindest and most humble people you'll find on this planet. Anyone who (safely) takes a step outside of their resort to experience what the country has to offer is bound to find an aspect to fall in love with.

The people, the food, the culture, the history; there's so much to love about Mexico. If you're a buff of any of these things, Mexico is definitely worth the trip.

Once you get away from the resort areas, it is easy to see all of the hardship Mexicans face on a daily basis. A quick trip away from the coast in Cancun, for instance, will prove to anyone from a first-world country just how good we have it where we're from. It's an easy reminder to be grateful for the lives we're living day-to-day. I think everyone could use an experience like this every now and then.

I'd say, depending on where in the country you go, Mexico is a great week-long trip.
